I LOVE the outdoors and being near the ocean. Living here in Ponte Vedra Beach has brought inner peace to my soul. It’s a gently calming of the senses and centers me. A little competitive when it comes to games and sports. I’m not going to lie when I say I will fight to the end! I have been running marathons since I was 25. I love the peace it brings me each morning. You can do anything you put your mind to with time and patience.
My two girls are everything and more to me. I love the relationship we have built and know they will do anything they put their mind to! I am proud to be called their Mom.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have been Married to my husband Victor for 26 years. We met in Cancun while vacationing with friends. We are blessed to have two daughters 22 &20. Juliana graduated from FSU in April 2021 and currently works as a Marketing Assistant at Vicar’s Landing for their new Oak Bridge Development. Marisa is finishing her Sophomore year at FSU studying Business Marketing and plans to go to Law School.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do? I have had a very interesting career path since graduating with a BS in Marketing/Advertising in 1989. I spent 7 fabulous years as a Textile Designer at Liz Claiborne where I traveled the world making color approvals. Since moving to Florida in 1996 I have worked in Sales, Merchandising and Product development. I have been working with my father at Kalwin Graphics for 1.5 years and can’t imagine doing anything else! My passion is to be creative. I look at things in a different way than most. I can get inspiration from something as simple as a quote to a beautiful sunset.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
There are so many great places to eat here! I have a lot of allergy issues, so I am limited but have found all local establishments know how to handle it. Favorite lunch spots South Kitchen, the Loop & Beach Diner. Indulgences: Andiamo, Aqua Grill and Valley Smoke. I am looking forward to having Anejo and Catulo’s opening here in Nocatee!
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
We moved to the Baymeadows area in 1996 and then built/moved to our home here in Ponte Vedra Beach in February 1998. Love living near the beach and yes, I am guilty of not wanting to cross the ditch!
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I miss traveling overseas! I am looking forward to going to Europe next Fall. I love the architecture and landscapes. Of course, shopping opportunities are always key!
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I love to watch anything that is a true story. Favorite movie- Goodfellas – favorite shows – anything on BRAVO, Ozark or that will make me laugh.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
I think it’s important to listen. Listen to what people are saying and asking for as well as listen to your gut.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love being close to the beach. It’s peaceful and calms the soul.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Oh gosh, we are approaching retirement in this time frame, so I am hoping to be healthy and active! From a business aspect, I plan to still be thriving at Kalwin Graphics as I take over the company.
