I love parties. The stress, the planning, the outcome. It’s all amazing. Now you probably think I’m crazy. It was a long road before I realized my true passion for event planning. Now, weddings are my specialty but there is something so exciting about small intimate events with a ton of detail and creativity poured into it that gets me going. Any time I can use my creativity is a good day.

I love changing the layout or decor in my home over and over, thrifting, and refurbishing old furniture in my “off time.”  Other than that my husband and I love traveling with our two girls, trying new restaurants and just relaxing at home. We are originally from the Maryland/DC Metro area and have lived in several states before settling here in Florida and we’re so happy we finally made it to another warm state!

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
Our family moved to Ponte Vedra in 2017 after living all over the country. My husband, Tyler, is the National Food and Beverage director for the PGA Tour and we have two girls, Lucy, 6, and Ella, 3, who absolutely keep us busy.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?  I’ve been planning events since 2006 in several different states including Maryland, Virginia, San Diego, Atlanta, New Orleans and Florida. I took a break for a few years to try marketing and advertising for Casinos and after 5 years, I went back to events. I returned to event planning for non-profit companies and moved on to corporate events which was the turning point for me. I love helping my clients and planning alongside them so in 2015 I knew I needed to start my own business. I needed more of a creative outlet and owning my business allowed me to do just that.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
We just went to Drunken Horse, not local but close enough and it was SO delicious! We also love Nineteen and Valley Smoke.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
We’ve lived here since 2017 and I started Heather Hagin Events as soon as I moved here. It took a while to get started but I was still traveling back to DC to finish up some weddings there.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Greece. Culture is something I want my girls to experience and the beauty of the country just seems immeasurable.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I love anything that will make me laugh or a good mystery…dateline anyone?

Q: What advice would you give to people?
If you’re ever thinking whether or not to throw a party for something…do it. Do you ever really regret a celebration? Plus you’ll never know if there will be another time to celebrate.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I’d say my favorite thing about the community are the opportunities it presents. We live in an area that still gets cold but mostly warm in the winter, we have a quaint airport that will take us anywhere, and we’re driving distance to the gulf, Disney and so many southern states. It’s pretty unique.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Right where I am but planning more events and hopefully adding to my team!

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Traveling. Always take the chance to travel.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Love, Family and Dance Parties make up our home
